What Makes Tour De Hangar Special?

We've designed this event with everyone in mind. Whether you're here to test your personal limits, climb with friends, or soak up the atmosphere, Tour De Hangar is all about creating an unforgettable experience for novice, intermediate and hardcore climbers.

Expect thrilling boulders, new friends, and an unbeatable community vibe.

Our routesetters have crafted problems that'll make you smile, make you think, and push you to new limits. 

The Tour De Hangar offers:

• Single-day format – No league tables—just one epic day to climb your hardest.
• Climb alongside the pros – Share the mats with elite climbers and pick up game-changing techniques.
• Spectator finale – Get ready for a high-stakes, edge-of-your-seat showdown in the Super Bloc Final.
• Routes for all levels – From funky V0 climbs to bold, shiny mega boulders at V14. And loads of cool, silly, fun stuff in between.

How Does the Competition Work?

The Tour De Hangar uses a scramble flash format, giving you total freedom to enjoy the comp your way:

• Scramble Format: Choose which problems to attempt and in what order. See a problem that fits your style? Or a new style bloc you’ve never tried before? Go for it!
• Scoring System:
• First attempt completion: 10 points
• Second attempt completion: 7 points
• Subsequent attempts: 4 points upon completion
• Super Bloc Final: All points are tripled, raising the stakes for elite climbers. Get ready for a high-intensity showdown to close the show

Your Tour De Hangar Experience

The event kicks off mid-afternoon. Check your local centre for specific times.

30+ unique blocs are spread throughout the centre, and you can use the app to track their location and grade.

Around you, climbers of all abilities share beta, offer encouragement, and make new friends. This is what makes Tour De Hangar special. Everyone shares the same space, the same challenges, and the same passion.

As the evening approaches, the top six scorers will battle it out in the Super Bloc Final. Grab a drink, gather around with your new climbing friends, and watch the elite take on the toughest problems of the day.

Throughout the event, enjoy DJ sets at select locations, fun challenges, raffles with sponsor prizes, and problems set by the UK’s best route setters.

After the Climb

Select Climbing Hangar locations will host after-parties and wind downs, where you can relax, celebrate your achievements, and connect with fellow climbers.

The perfect way to cap off an incredible day.

Track Your Progress

All competitors use the online Tour De Hangar app to update scores and check the live scorecard, letting you track your progress and see how you rank against other climbers in real time.

What About Kids?

The Tour De Hangar is a family-friendly event. Before each competition, kids are invited to take part in Tour De Hangar Jr., where young climbers can test themselves against the comp set and have some fun.

• Tour De Hangar Jr. is included in standard U14 admission.
• If the child has a Family, Rock Club, or Squad membership, it won’t cost them another penny.

While Tour De Hangar Jr. doesn’t offer competition t-shirts or prizes, it’s still an awesome way for kids to experience the thrill of competition.
