How to Play Add On

In a game of Add On, you mix up the colours of the holds to create your own challenging bloc.

It works like this:

Begin with a pair of hand holds, then take it in turns to “add” the next hold to the route. You can choose any reachable hold, then the other player has to reach it too and add a further hold to the route.

The aim is to go further than the other player, or at least make a cool new bloc in the process.

Variations:

- Only use one type of hold – just slopers, crimps or even footholds!
- No matching
- Campus-only-add-on: no feet allowed
- Restrict additional holds to certain colours
